Olivia Diaz
Varsity Head Coach
Coach Olivia Diaz is a Centennial High School alumnus, graduating in 2019 after a standout playing career. She continued her volleyball journey at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, where she competed for four years, serving as a team captain and earning recognition as a Tar Heel Leader of Distinction.
After college, Olivia began her coaching career with A5, spending two years as an assistant with the nationally competitive 18-1 team before transitioning into her current role as assistant coach for A5's 12-1 program. In 2024, she joined the Alpharetta High School staff as an assistant coach, helping lead the team to an undefeated season and a state championship title. The following year, she stepped into the role of head coach, guiding Alpharetta to a state runner-up finish. Olivia is excited to return to Centennial and give back to the volleyball program!
Melanie Colbert
Community Coach
Coach Melanie Colbert brings six years of playing experience as a libero/defensive specialist. It is during her transition to coaching in the fall of 2017, where she discovered her passion for developing athletes. She has worked with middle school feeder programs, competitive club teams at A5 Volleyball Club, and spent three seasons coaching varsity at North Gwinnett High School.
Melanie has coached multiple clinics and camps at A5 and, in many ways, considers it her second home. Over the years, she has coached multiple teams that have qualified for USAV Nationals, as well as teams that have medaled and won multiple qualifiers. She has also helped lead high school programs to Elite Eight and Final Four appearances in the GHSA state tournament. Melanie is excited to continue developing the next generation of athletes, helping them accomplish any goals they set out to achieve.
