Shout OUts

Each day we ended with shout-outs, and it was awesome to see the players recognizing the progress in other players! We also gave out a few end of camp awards. Here are the winners.

Best Attitude Award: This award goes to players who always accepted coaching with enthusiasm, looked for feedback, lifted up their teammates through encouragement, and consistently looked for feedback on how to improve. Winners were Alliyah Williams on Coach Mackenzie's court and Audreina Stephens on Coach Laura's court.

Hustle Award: this award recognizes the players who are the first to run to the end of the court to shag balls, first back on the court after water breaks, and always working hard at every skill/drill. Winners were Sydney Golding on Coach Mackenzie's court and Lily Bell on Coach Laura's court.

Most Improved: this award celebrates those players who showed great strides between day 1 and 2. They demonstrated their ability to learn the techniques that were being taught throughout camp consistently. Winners were Brianna Anastasia on Coach Mackenzie's court and Keeley Thomas on Coach Laura's court.

The Britton Family Scholarship: In 2022 The CHS Volleyball Board elected to start a Junior Knights scholarship in honor of The Britton Family. Coach Doug Britton and his wife Susan have given of themselves to the CHS Volleyball program, especially to Junior Knights. The award to his recognize a player who demonstrated great potential for the sport, had an awesome attitude on the court and a willingness and curiousity to learn.

Leah Reddykotha was awarded the scholarship this year.

Congratulations to all the award winners!

I am Coach Doug Britton, dad to a 2023 Centennial varsity volleyball graduate Kari and college student Betsy. I have had the privilege of coaching the Jr. Knights feeder Volleyball team the past several years, and really enjoy working with the "first-timers" as well as the "long-timers." I played volleyball all through HS and then at the club level in College and Graduate School. I even met my lovely wife, Susan, playing VB. I also coach at nearby club TK.

Hello! My name is Erika Rodriguez. I graduated earlier this year from Kennesaw State University with a B.S. in Psychology and minor in Applied Statistics/Data Analysis. I started my volleyball journey through the Jr. Knights program back in 2012 and fell in love with the sport. I played a couple seasons on Centennial's team and after graduation I had the opportunity to play for Kennesaw's club team. Throughout college and after I have continued to play both indoor and sand volleyball as well as grass. Though I mainly love to play volleyball, I also enjoy painting and playing the piano. I believe this sport has incredible lessons to teach us all both on and off the court so I seek to instill the love of the game and allow that to be the foundation for everything else that follows- work ethic, discipline, confidence, etc. I am honored to get to coach one of our Jr. Knights teams and am excited to see what our teams accomplish throughout the season!
